Lynx Entertainment begins global music distribution for African artistes

The well-known Ghanaian record label, part of Lynx Group Limited, has helped many of the continent's biggest music stars and produced many global hits. As the company approaches two decades of operation, it has announced a new service: offering direct music distribution worldwide for labels and artists.

Lynx Entertainment has teamed up with technology giant Vydia to provide the digital tools needed to distribute music directly to global Digital Service Providers (DSPs) without any middlemen. This move is designed to make sure African artists and labels are well-represented in the fast-growing digital music market.

Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx Group, explained the importance of this move. "As Africa embraces the many opportunities of digital distribution, it is crucial to protect the interests of artists and labels in Africa, ensuring they get the most out of it," he said.

Mensah added that for the first time, African artists will not need third-party distributors or agents to get their music on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, and others. They can now do this from the comfort of their homes, making the process easier and giving them more control over their music.

Lynx Entertainment's new distribution platform sends music to about 200 stores globally. It offers features to protect and manage content, including advanced payments and data tracking. The platform's advanced technology ensures that artists can easily distribute, protect, make money from, and store their music through a simple and user-friendly system.

The platform is designed with a clear royalty payout process, making sure artists and labels get fair payment for their work. This complete approach is expected to change the way African music is shared and enjoyed around the world.

The partnership between Lynx Entertainment and Vydia marks a new era for African music. By providing direct access to global DSPs, the platform helps artists and labels reach a wider audience while keeping control over their content and earnings.
